    Searching Obituaries (out of country)

Obits and death notices are no longer as common here as they used to be. Try https://funeral-notices.co.uk/west+midlands-west+midlands but I don't know if the site would be available from Canada or how far back the records go.

    Visiting cat

You could take it to a vet to see if she is chipped (the cat not the vet). Not sure if you would be charged though.

My first crystal set used a 'cat's whisker' and a crystal of galena (lead sulfide - or sulphide as it was then!!!) being before the days of germanium diodes. The galena was held in a small clamp and the cats whisker a piece of sprung wire which rested against the crystal. Getting a connection...

Or maybe Media Player has become corrupt - reinstalling may help. I always use VLC in preference to Windows Media Player.

Eric - not sure but try this:- Insert the CD/DVD, open file explorer and right click the disk drive. Select 'Open Autoplay' and a list of options should appear. Maybe for a start select 'Take No Action' and then repeat the procedure and select what you want to happen.

    Good classical music on YouTube

Glancing through the previous posts I haven't found any mention of our own Albert Ketelby, an English composer, conductor and pianist, best known for his short pieces of light orchestral music. Born in Aston in 1875 his works include 'In a Monastery Garden', 'In a Persian Market' and 'Bells...

Not sure if this is any help but this is a photo of ancestor Thomas Pierpoint 1871 - 1944 in his police uniform. Seems to have a top button in the right place!

John Rabone & Sons of Hockley rulers tapes and tools

A few snippets of info from the internet: 1963 John Rabone and Sons, of Whitmore Street, Birmingham, merged with James Chesterman and Co, toolmakers of Sheffield, and the name was changed to Rabone Chesterman. 1970 they acquired another tool maker, Fry's (London). 1989, Stanley Tools, one of...

Mike - you are right clicking on the middle option? Otherwise look for the program's .exe file in Program Files or Program Files (x86) (C: drive list) then right click on that.......

    Windows 10

From the start menu right click on the program and select 'more > open file location'. The program should then be highlighted - right click and select 'create shortcut'. It should then ask if you want the shortcut placed on the desktop.

Model name and year of Swift bike made in Birmingham

Maybe the N stands for Normal? edit: guess confirmed - see https://genetics.mgh.harvard.edu/hanczyc/pdfs/satriggers.pdf The first bike I remember my dad having had a similar gear lever mounted on the cross bar (referred to as top tube in the above article).
