Excellent - Thanks Mike,
Just to let you know:
Walter had a brother Henry- also a Tailor.
And another called Frederick though apart from a poss birth entry and found him on 1 census - he's a complete mystery!
His wife(Walters') was Lizzie/Elizabeth so the 1904 ref could well be her...
Thanks Mike.
Looks like Walter disappeared again (at least i've always managed to track him down on the census/censi?!)
Walter was actually a Tailor/Clothier and the ad. which mentioned Walter Parr and Co. was looking for girls who could crochet .In 1901 his "wife" was noted as a "Wholesale...
Grateful for a lookup of this chap.
Have found an 1883 ad. for 61 Gower St, Lozells for Walter and am hoping to confirm it/find out more info.
Thanks in advance,
Kaz
Thanks for the info Mike - I had a quick look last night after reading your post and found out some interesting stuff about my rellies.
I knew from the census details that one of my rellies was a shopkeeper and had already looked on several directories for info on her. It hadn't occurred to me...
My Reeves rellies were at 20 Whitehead st from 1881(perhaps before - who knows??) to at least 1925.Though in 1925 it was actually the Clarke name as one of my Reeves women had married and stayed in the family home.
That reminds me, I must see if i can find a will for her father....
Kaz
Hi,
Thought i'd try again so it looks better!!

Thanks for all the replies,
The Frank Reeves mentioned was my Grandfather..Lizzie my grandmother.
Like i said, i only have my mothers memory of stories to go on- so it can be a bit tough finding out things!
Kaz
People might start to talk you know!
And know what the silly thing is...I actually had a sub to the electoral rolls , my time fiinshed and THEN i find out who May married:rolleyes:
I know the sub isn't much..but i only need one little lookup............
Hello,
Is there sks who could help me with a lookup on the Electoral roll please(1925 onwards...) .
I am trying to trace May Parr who married Fred Everton in 1925.
Grateful for any help in tracing this couple.
Many thanks,
Kaz
Hi,
I wonder if sks can help me.
It seems that my Grandmother used to own/run an icecream shop - probably near the factories. This would have been 1936/38.
Would there have been any record of this business?
Sorry i don't have any more detail but am relying on my mothers memory(!) and...
