    What is this building?

Not sure, but it looks like a place I want to be inside of!!! Great looking place, I think my exploring gear needs cleaning off!

Birmingham Battery & Metal Co Selly Oak

Hi guys, there are MUCH better photo's than mine on the net, but here are some of mine....... Paperwork from 1903. Some of this should be saved!!!! The place used to be utterly shocking. It was a real old school metal working shop. Terrible conditions, and you can see where the old...

    crocodile works

All that asid, that listing is over 12 months old, and there has been more and more removed in that time. Either local nutters will burn it down like they did with so many listed buildings in Wolverhampton, or a digger will "accidentally" damage the building, and so it will have to be taken...

    crocodile works

The frontages are really all that is left. The ones on Porcheter street are just that for the most part. Totally demolished all bar the odd brick wall and stair case. Quite a change to how it all was this time last year.

    crocodile works

Not totally demolished, here's what's left........ The police turned up and kicked us off the site after an hour or so. The demolition company are hot on the place as it will all be gone within the next few weeks. The place is utterly gutted with nothing of interest in place...

    Bulpitt and Sons Birmingham

Re: Bullpitts Guilty as charged!! My Dad was quite the photographer, and only in the last 2 years or so have I got my hands on the kit to let me experiment in digital like he used to with film. Can't wait to get out there and explore some more of Brum, the little bundle of joy has held me back...

    Bulpitt and Sons Birmingham

Re: Bullpitts My dad only just today bought me a copy of the Bullpitts magazine. He took most of the photo's in the brochure, and told me many stories of how amazing the place was. I wish it was still there for me to explore!!!! Yes the company was Swan, and they were quite versatile. The old...

    Clark And Sewell Legge Lane

Yeah, I'm afraid I'm the tall geeky one with spikey hair. I sound like a bloody know-it-all. Had fun filming tho!

    Clark And Sewell Legge Lane

The building was being ripped out the last time i went to get some shots. Looks like it will be used for something at least. Shame all the original stuff in there will be lost though. I hate seeing more of this area's history ruined

    Clark And Sewell Legge Lane

Yeah. I've been there a few times, and filmed in there with the BBC for inside out. Edit. Six images missing from this post.

Workhouse Infirmary 99 Dudley Rd 1 Western Road

Maggie, I could not agree more. There are far too many places in this country that are incredibly important to our social and economic past that are being destroyed. The more of our buildings we lose, the less history we have to pass on. The more I travel about, the more dereliction I see, and...

Urban exploring buildings in & around Brum

I totally agree that change should and will happen, but when you see most of the well know Jewellry Quarter in Brum falling apart, and nothing being done about it, that makes you wonder who actually cares about our future, and our past. The way the current economic climate is going, there will...

Urban exploring buildings in & around Brum

Oh, and just out of interest, I appeared on the BBC's inside out last year, doing what we do. It's a bit lame, and they edited in a way so we didn't really get the message across about why we do it. Anyway, here's the video............ YouTube - Urban Exploration on Inside out

Urban exploring buildings in & around Brum

Thanks for the warm comment Ian. I'm actually quite shocked at the general positive reponse to what we do. I must admit, that my old man has been great with pointing out possible explores around Brum. He worked for the old Bullpitts/Swan company that is now an NHS site, and was involved with the...

    Turner Brothers Toolmakers

:DLooks like I've found my next building to explore!!! This place looks amazing, but like most of our historical places, it's probably being part used(ground floor) by a small company that doesn't maintain the building, and the rest will clowly fall in on itself. I'll go have a look I think!!!

Urban exploring buildings in & around Brum

Do you know what, when my wife was in the QE having our gorgeous little girl last September, all I could think when looking out the window at the new hospital was"Ibet the view is amazing from up there!" But I'm not into the tall stuff. Unless it's really old!!! LOL You should get out and give...

Urban exploring buildings in & around Brum

LOL! We are VERY careful where-ever we go, but Exploring the old Battery and Metal company, my exploring partner went through a rotten section of floor, then in G.S.Smart(on the same day) I split my head open on a huge part of the sprinkler system that had collapsed!!! OOOPS, but So worth it...
