    Went for a couple of days to Lincolnshire. This lancaster was built at Longbridge. We seem to talk a lot about spitfires being buily at Castle Bromwich but ignore the Lancs built at Austin Motors. They fired up the four Merlins and it bought a lump to my throat.

    I understood "TThe Last Post" was the military bugle call to note the end of the day at the barracks or outpost and accompanied the lowering of the flag. The use at funerals came much later. Someone on the forum will know the answer.
