I have pondered over this photo many times. Is it looking down to Farm st with Frankfort Stt on left . If so my nan's shop is the remaining building on the left, or is it further up. It looks as if the photo is taken downhill from Bridge St west, but I know a block of flats were built on my nans...
I know its a long time as I am new to the site, but the pub on the corner of Frankfort St and Gt Russell St was "the Justice" managed for years by Jack and Nan Stanley.
Thanks so much, That shot of Frankfort St looking down from Summer Lane, where the white van is at the end used to be a bookies in the time of the bookies runners, and where the grass starts was my nan's shop in Gt Russell St demolished 1965
I used to get off the Midland Red in New town row (The house that Jack built)with my mom, Lily Fowkes(Crowe) and walk down Summer Lane up Gee St and down Frankfort St to Gt Russell St where my nan had a shop.
