    On TV smoking was the norm but that is how it was . Did you have one of those posh cigarette holders and posh evening gloves .

    Remember the Jet Garage on the left just as you turned into Stockfield road opposite the entrance to Yardley Cemetery . Used tp fill up at the Gulf garage at the Meadway when petrol was 74p a gallon and an attendant filled your car up for you mid 70s.

    Excellent post . Used to go in most Saturdays in the 70s when shopping in Brum City Centre seemed more of enclosed atmosphere then. Great memories.

    Had a book with saving stamps but i cashed them in for some accessories for my Action Man . Could not resist. This was back in the mid 60s.

    Purchased a book of 8 2nd class stamps today worked out 75p per stamp six pounds per book . Had to make a big choice buy a book of 1st class stamps or have a bar on the electric fire Christmas Day.
