Last tram ever along Bristol Road

I believe the last trams on the Bristol Road services and Cotteridge actually ran on Saturday; bus service started on the Sunday morning.

    the no 8 bus

This may have been JOJ 437, a bus based at Liverpool st. Garage which did supply buses to the Inner Circle. It was withdrawn in 1963, being the first "new front" vehicle to be withdrawn. I think Lloyd would be able to confirm the "crash" details in more detail. I have a picture of it after...

B.C.T. 1954 Guy Arab for sale

There is a strong possibility this vehicle will be purchased by a group consisting of an owner of another BCT vehicle

Out of interest I contacted the local tourist office in Laon, asking if anyone had info on it. Despite also sending them a picture, no one could remember anything. Sounds like Lloyd was right..

    Location -Any ideas?

I wonder if this shot somehow is quite similar, which would make it Tyburn Road. Houses look a lot alike, and 2nd overhead gantry is in the right position.

    BCT garages

Some time ago, one of our members posted a narrative and pictures, then and now of BCT garages. There did not appear to be a mention of Birchfield Road Garage, which was considered a satellite of Perry Barr. I do remember this garage. Could someone fill me in with a little more information...

    Midland Red at Digbeth

Here's a picture of DHA 731, presumably at Birds in Stratford. There is a picture of later date of this vehicle on Page 28 of "Midland Red Buses" by M.W. Greenwood. Notice all the old BCT buses in the background, most likely CVD6's. Sad to see

    old evening mail pics.....

On March 22 1993, the Mail published an insert called "Old Brum on the Move", which covered Golden Days of Trams, Motoring Memories, Rebirth of The Canals and All Change on the Buses. (Cost 50p!!). As it is a full page newspaper, at the moment I"m not sure how I'm going to be able to scan it...
