    Birmingham buses

I don't believe it is Tyburn Road. Possibly Moseley Rd after withdrawal and complete restoration - note the bus is carrying Birmingham coat of Arms.

Lets us hope it doesn't suffer the same fate as MOF 102, bought by a group of vandals in Manchester

    Birmingham buses

This is probably MOF 164 which was located until 1991 near Loan France as a mobile cafe. Looks in pretty poor shape now. Where was this picture taken? Attaching a picture from earlier times

    Birmingham buses

I think JOJ 282 is just crossing Priory Road. The crane is probably on the site of the old Edgbaston Preparatory School. The picture was probably taken after Dec 1963 since the bus following, which I think is JOJ 959 is headed to Egghill Lane Estate which operated after Dec 1963. Nice picture

    Birmingham City Transport Home Guard

I knew my Dad (W.A.J. Mitchell) was in the Home Guard, but never realized he was a Lieutenant. From what I gathered, during the war he had the responsibility to make sure the trams were kept running around track damaged from bombing.

Michael Portillos Great British Railway Journys BBC2 16/20 6.30 pm

I was interested in seeing the Walsall-Bourneville episode, but of course, living out of the UK found it impossible. However, did finally manage to find the whole series on a site. Slow download, but after tinkering with the format, managed to see it. The Beeb really do excellent types of...

I agree. At no time did any of the "Circle" routes meet, although they did come pretty close.

    Where is this? 154

The interesting thing to me of course is the bus itself, which I believe is running the Inner Circle. I don't ever recall many MOF Guys running this route, although Hockley had a batch of Daimler MOF's in the 3160s-3170s. Any idea of the date??

    Old Birmingham

I don't think there will be any tram pictures. Appears to be a bus turning out of Navigation St. on to John Bright St. Also one going down Hill St. They both appear to be "new" fronts, so I suspect the picture was taken after the tram demise of the Bristol Road/Pershore Road routes in 1952.
