    It's in the Great Barr Observer but can't find anything online that planning has been approved for a restaurant and banqueting suite and all the existing original features will be kept intact so good news in a way that the building has been saved, work starts shortly:positive:

    No but ancestors were John Maney born 1835 Limerick and James Maney born 1861 Birmingham, just checked but i haven't got the number just Hoilday Street 1871.:emmersed:

    Finding this fascinating because my Gt and Gt Gt Grandparents were living in Holiday Street in 1871 but i can't seem to see much housing on the maps that have been posted unless i've overlooked them:rolleyes:

    I was very impressed, half the size of Brum but seems to have twice as much to offer. The disused docks area around Bootle seems to let it down a little though.

You can see the Archway here with the eye hospital a good distance to the right.. https://goo.gl/maps/QBePp Not sure the Hospital have any real plans for the building that's left as there are plans to build a super hospital in Smethwick that will replace much of this site...
