BBC 4 Golden Age of Coach Travel

Not sure if it was moved this year then as it was at the farm shop during May to the end of September. I must add that I only spent a week there in each of those months and it may have been moved away for short periods but it looks a pretty permanent location well tucked up against a hedge.

BBC 4 Golden Age of Coach Travel

If anyone is interested in viewing the Yelloway coach it is on the car park of a farm shop between Churston Railway station and the quad bike field on the Brixham road.

    Where is This ? #188

Is it the river Rea at the junction of Cartland Road and Pershore Road, Stirchley. I remember as a teenager it used to flood a lot until the river bed was deepened and there is another brook that runs under Pershore Road.

    Items that have faded away

Parkinsons became Parkinson Cowan and the site they were on is now the retail park in Stetchford and Parkinson Cowan I believe were swallowed up by Valor Heating. Pop bottle with screw top and orange washer was Mason's pop.

    Birmingham Tram Books

Trams only ran along Hagley Rd as far as Bearwood. If your GGF drove trams to the Lickey Terminus that route was along the Bristol Road and he would most likely to have been based at Selly Oak garage. As regards employee records I dont know if any were kept, the best route maybe Birmingham...

    Northfield - Church Hill

I dont think the new view is much out to the older picture as the building on the corner of Woodland Road is still there. The newer picture suggests that the road has been straightened out quite a lot.

    Cadbury Changes

Just a momento of my late mother's time at Bournville. The date shown was one week before she married and in those times Cadbury did not employ married women. Also on the day she left a Holy Bible was awarded.
