    The ring and ride.

My wife uses it every weekday to go to her dads near Handsworth Cementery , they collect her at 8.00 to 8.15 and gets collected in the afternoon between 5.00 and 5.30. Very good service, almost a free taxi service. As its a charity and provides a service for people with mobility problems I think...

Is this the one Jean? it is a very interesting book for anyone into BCT.Buses are not one of my major passions but I do have a load of stuff on buses and trams which were given to me by my sis in law when my brother died. My link to BCT would be down to my dad who worked for them from 1934 to...

Hi Lyn, yes I know Steward Street very well, I used to occasionally visit a toolmaking company there and also there was a industrial enamellers that I used to deal with also in that street. There is still a filling station on the Dudley road, must be my old age setting in and memory getting addled

Where is This ? Garages #18

I think its probably because that we have filling stations now rather than garages. Oil companies say that the profit on forecourt sales is very low, hence these places have become convenience stores as well. When we had garages and lots of them, the main business was selling/ servicing vehicles...

    Repeal of the Turnpike acts

I found this sign in Brixham in what was once the fish market. Sign says Torquay so maybe the sign did not originate at its current location.

    Birmingham Trams

The card is no more Lyn it gave up the ghost a few years ago. I found it on a stall at Kidderminster Station (SVR) a few years ago. There is a guy there who sells old Ordnance Survey maps and he threw the card in free with a couple of maps.:biggrin::biggrin:

I think it is the last line of topsy's post that has been misread, although it is clear to me that there are two books offered to anyone who wants them, not prints or their originals.
