    Here's a press cutting I found about him -

    Harborne

Not misremembering at all. He was ours, probably from before i was born in 1949. I can remember visiting the house to see the doctor, having travelled from Hagley Road (where we lived) on the Outer Circle bus to the Duke of York, then on return catch it in Harborne Park Road, having got there...

    Snow Hill Station

That fits with my understanding of the cable tramway terminating at Snow Hill Station, while horse trams did go along Colmore Row. If the cable cars went further, there would be photographs of them in Colmore Row, but none show them further than outside the station (or the Arcade, which is the...

    Snow Hill Station

What year issue is that? I know the electrified lines were extended to the Grand, but think the cable tramway ended before Livery Street.

    Snow Hill Station

The first shot is of a Midland Region double headed train, ex LMS locos, almost certainly at New Street. The rest is Snow Hill.

There is a death registered for Patrick J Cox, aged 8 in the 1st quarter of 1941 in Birmingham. I think his birth might be 4th quarter 1932, Mother's maiden name Barlow, also Birmingham.

Back when you could safely paddle, no risk of broken bottles to cut your feet.

I remember it as the "Sons of Rest", something I am now!.

    Moseley Kings Heath Line

Sounds a bit of a "Your cheque is in the post" statement to me. As with the tram, I'll believe it when I see it.

Hagley Road & Bearwood Road junction

That interior is more or less an 'as now' shot. Back in the days I remember it, it was far more 'ower middle class', a sort of upmarket transport caff feel. Lunchtime food was good & cheap though, regularly went there or "The Wernley" on Wolvehampton rd / Stanley Rd jcn for lunch with a friend...

Hagley Road & Bearwood Road junction

By his reading this! Sorry, I've looked and I no longer have it - lost in a computer crash some years back. If I find another copy, I'll post it on this board.

    Bundy clocks around Birmingham

I think the steepest hill on the tramway system was at Hill Top, between West Bromwich & Wednesbury. I was told that in icy or snowy weather, the first car to Wednesbury would go down the hill "wrong road" (i.e. on the right hand side) to ensure the rails were clear to enable the car to get back...

    1952 - Hockley to Rednal

Hockley to City was 2 April 1939. City to Rednal was July 5 1952.

    1952 - Hockley to Rednal

Most of the 'Main Road' services from Hockley terminated in front of Snow Hill station on Colmore Row. The bus to Rednal started from right across town in Navigation Street. A long walk. The trams that were replaced by the buses used the same terminii.

    Proposed new building Gas Street

In the daytime, when the occupants are at work and the only consumption is fridges, freezers and burglar alarms, and the sun is shining, yes there would be positive generation. When everyone comes home, heating, TV, cookers etc. on (remember no gas allowed in tower blocks after the Ronan Point...
