    Record shop favourites in birmingham

    I remember once going to one of the record shops, I think on New Street, just after a meal and trying to chat up the clerk there. she said, "OH you just had Sausage and chips didn't you!" I have never been so embarrassed in my life I blushed and left!!!

    You know, thinking about all the bands that formed and played, maybe after the war, people wanted to relax have some fun, and dance away the horrors we went through, most of us just kids then. WE packed them in, every night we played and we certainly drank our fair share of beer! Happy times...

    I went there when I was 5 or so I guess around 1938 I remember the bottle of milk and the outdoor toilets I live on Moat Lane Yardley we walked up to school every day.

    I collected stamps for years and wish I still had them, the shop in Needless Alley my favorite they had a Half Penny black that I could not afford and did a lot of business there.

    I lived on Moat Lane across from the church and rec centre we used to play tennis in the field across the street. Have fond memories of Harding bakery and a slice of fresh bread The Tiv on Sats snoggin with my bird in the back Flash Gordon snd movitone news
