Hi Jim, I left Tyseley in 1962, long before your time at the MEM.

The Hillfield farm pub is owned by Farmhouse inns. All their pub names end in farm so not necessary located on or near a farm. The Hillfield Hall restaurant ended its days as a Toby Inn carvery, there were plans for the stables to become a night club, but I dont know if they ever got planning...

It was called the San Remo, they relocated there from Marston Green.

I think its the same place, its still standing and is still a pub, a really nice building, not to sure about the pub though.

There Was a B&G just down from the whirlwind garage in the sixties, also the site where the Holiday Inn now stands was also B&G. I believe they became part of Bristol Street Motors, and that site became B S M car hire.
