    Here in Spain we have refuse collected every night, including Sundays. One man operated with a hoist on truck that picks community bins up to empty. Easy.

    I believe Perry Barr is still a race track. I went to Hall Green a lot with my father in the fifties, he would lift me over the turnstile to get in, with the doorman's agreement.

    I remember that club in Elmdon Lane. The other club near the old airport entrance was more fun. Serious drinking with aircrew and engineers.

    If I remember there were two clubs,one near the old entrance called the Warwick, mainly a drinking club frequented by air crew and engineers. The other was down a lane off the A45 called Warwick Aero which was a nightclub.

    Thanks Jim, it all falls into place. When younger my favorite shop was on Church Rd near Swan Island, the model shop. I spent hours looking in there.

    Oldmohawk, I use both, local weather forecast says tomorrow high of 32, low tonight of 27. Long trousers and socks packed away weeks ago except for few days in May when i went to my old haunt, Knowle near Solihull. Brrrr. I am east coast of Spain.

    Oldmohawk, we are experiencing a very hot June, unusual for this time of year, 104 on Sunday. Had no Spring, went almost overnight from mild winter to high summer and this will continue until November. Cloudy today and much nicer.

    Depends what you call adverse weather. Snowed here in Spain in January this year, first time for they reckon 97 years. They set up a photographic exhibition in the local town as the locals had never seen it before.
