Looking at these snow scenes almost makes me homesick, almost. We had snow last year, first for 97 years, schools closed to give children the chance to enjoy the view. Picture of the snowman on the front wall.
Probably my first drink in licenced premises was the outdoor in Holte rd witton run by my grandmother. Saturday lunchtimes when I was around 14 I would go for lunch, always beans on toast and pint of Ansells mild. One day she offered me cigarettes, best thing she did for me, I hated them, never...
I fitted many party lines during my time at Witton GPO, next to Aston Villa ground. It works by using an earth connection to complete a circuit. Any faults on these were fixed by pouring a bucket of water on the earth rod.
Thats the benefit of modern technology. I telephone friends from Spain to UK. All free. Business calls cost next to nothing e.g banks, tax man. All using the Internet.
Just watched the latest episode but I think the story needs to come with instructions, HELP. It seems a bit disjointed. Have I missed something. How did Polly know the mafiosa boss? He seemed to base his performance on godfather Corleone. Where was the canal scene filmed?

I was an old friend of Sean Mahoney and Noel Barnes. I am aware Sean is no longer with us but any news on Noel? We worked together for quite a few years.

I am sure that is a pic of the Red Lion in post 1259. The other pub a few doors along the road was the White Lion which was demolished to make way for shops.
Steve, I have been trying to work out if you might have delivered to my grandmother's outdoor in Holte Road Witton. I think she was still there when you joined Ansells.
I have the dubious reputation of actually being escorted off an aircraft by the Airport Police and not as part of a stag party going to Benidorm. At the time I was very friendly with a senior engineer of Orion airlines and he found out I was going to Jersey with a group of people that I worked...
