    Chelmsley Wood Pubs

I was a regular there for years, played in the domino team and also played pool there, never had any problems. Wish it was still there.

The Two Hands, The Packhorse, The Cheshire Cat and The Harlequin - Shard End!

I will take this opportunity to post pics of the 3 remaining pubs left in Shard End. The Brookmeadow, The Trident and the Heathway, though now under a different name. There is one missing of which I have been unable to find a picture of, and that is the Woodside, which was actually on the...

    Hockley

This picture was posted on another forum, and I would like to know whereabouts it is. it is captioned Birmingham, Hockley 1906. I read the sign over the door as A.Douglas, Diamond Dealer. I cant make out the bottom line. I wonder if anyone could do a look up in the directories or electoral roll...

    Windows 10

Also,If I install any programs I only ever do a custom install, and not the recommended install. that way you can see what the program is trying to install. To the uninitiated it may seem complicated, but its not, usually just a matter of removing ticks.

    Windows 10

Since the last update the other day, it appears that Microsoft have turned on Windows Defender and removed Spybot-search and destroy. Now what gives them the right to remove programs without my ok. However I have just checked and it seems its still there, and working. Puzzled?

    Windows 10

I'll just have my final say on this, about 4 years ago I uploaded a video to Youtube of my 8 year old grandaughter dancing to a 30 second recording of Elvis and Jailhouse Rock. Lo and behold I had an email from youtube telling me to delete the video or they would as apparently I had contravened...

    Windows 10

On the whole I am quite happy with W10. What I dont like though is the way you have to restart or shutdown by clicking on the button at the bottom and then power and then shutdown or restart, so I have put 2 shortcuts on my desktop to make things a lot quicker. It is very simple to do and if...

    Windows 10

I upgraded my (oldish) laptop to w10 back in August, and as it was supposed to, it kept all my files and original programs, however, it was running very slow and I had a few problems. I then found out that you could reset w10 as if you were starting from scratch, so I took the bull by the horns...

    Windows 10

Like you I have had the same BSOD 3 or 4 times. I looked on google but its all double dutch to me. My computer has crashed a few times in the last couple of weeks. W10 is obviously very buggy still and I have till Aug 28th to decide whether to go back to W7. I just dont know yet. Attached is a...

    Chelmsley Wood Pubs

The Kingfisher is still open. The reason people use the clubs is because they have demolished all the pubs, so they have no choice. There was no Fordbridge when Chelmsley Wood was built. It was named afterwards along with Smiths Wood. So I class it all as Chemsley Wood. I live in Smiths Wood but...

    Police Service Records

We went a few months ago after I saw there was an open day when I read it on Facebook. The day in question was a Thursday so me and the wife took a ride out there. Not only did it appear to be closed but the police station was shut also. There was'nt any notices up anywhere. A disgrace.

    Windows 10

Well in the last couple of days I have had the dreaded blue screen of death twice. The error message that comes up is IRQL_NOT_LESS_MORE_EQUAL. Sending an error report. I have googled it but its all double dutch to me.

Another thing, Type 'Contol Panel' into the search box and you get the old familiar control panel where you can uninstall your programs if you want.
