    Windows 10

I know they are small and not causing any problems, and I never uninstall anything I am not sure about, it's just that I am a tidy up freak. Every so often I will go through the list and delete programs I never or very rarely use, but, sod's law you can almost guarantee that when I get rid of...

    Windows 10

In my current uninstall programs list, I have about a dozen Microsoft visual C ++ 2005 up to 2013. Do we really need all these or could I uninstall them all except for the latest. Would it cause problems?

    Deceased Or Ex Member’s avatars

Whilst looking through the posts today, I came across one posted by Dek Carr. Now a lot of us know that he is no longer with us, but you can still look at his profile, so newer members would think he is still around and post a reply or ask him a question. The same goes with ex members. Only...

I don't have a Kindle so I can ignore that, however, the wife has a Kindle Paperwhite that she uses on her laptop, and she has never yet had a problem.

The Bowling Green At St Bernard's Grange, Sheldon

The Comet, for some reason I never went into that place. Must be the only pub that side of town I never had a drink in, and I lived not too far from there.

    Castle Bromwich

Wasn't Birmingham in Warwickshire at the time, and when they built Chelmsley Wood it was classed as Warwickshire, I know because I bought a house on there and that was the address. Wasn't Castle Bromwich also in Warwickshire? before everything became the West Midlands. Castle Bromwich comes...

    Castle Bromwich

Re the above posts about the nearest police station. I moved to Shard End in 1958 when I was 11 years old, and I can remember a police station on the Chester Rd just by the entrance to Kingshurst. As far as I know that would make it the nearest to Hodge Hill, much closer than Erdington or Acocks...

Before you sell or give away your computer / laptop I would suggest you look at this site first. https://myactivity.google.kom/myactivity. I have just looked and it has showed me everything or nearly everything I have looked at and searched for in the last 3 years, and that is 2 years before I...

My first search engine was AltaVista, (remember it) Then Yahoo took it over, and they shut it down in 2013. Now if you do a search and click on Altavista.kom it goes straight to the Yahoo home page. (.kom is a deliberate mistake by the way. Just in case anyone clicks on it accidently)

    Windows 10

I have 3 browsers installed which I use depending on what I am looking at. Chrome is No 1 that I use for all my frequently used sites, like this one and others. 2 I use Opera for my less frequently used sites, like Flightradar 24. Though I am contemplating making it my No 1 browser, I will make...

    Windows 10

My wife a few months back bought herself a laptop with W10 installed. Well, the other day she had a 'windows 10 update ready to be installed' message come up, so she left it to me to sort out. I clicked the button to install it thinking it would be one of those monthly updates that we sometimes...

Memories of a Birmingham Musician (Drummer)!

I don't understand it all, but I'm finding this thread fascinating. Eddies quiet though, probably on holiday somewhere.

Apparently the latest Opera browser includes a VPN. I haven't tried it though. I have never used a VPN though, I might try it one day.
