    Looks like you are right Dek. Plus, I reckon the woman standing in the first doorway is living at No 10. So the address is 10 Cheapside. Now all we need is someone with the electoral roll to find out her name. Anybody? Terry

    Robs correct, it used to terminate in Hurst Lane, then the route was extended by turning right into Freasley Rd, left into Longmeadow Crescent past the girls school, then up to the junction of Longmeadow Crescent/Kitsland Rd where it turned round ready for the return journey. Terry

    James, sorry can't help you with the bungalows, but you will find it's Treaford Lane not Rd. In times past I have walked up and down that lane many times, and I have to admit I don't think I have ever noticed those bungalows. Terry

    The Chester Arms or as I have always still called it The Timberley on the corner of Hurst Lane/Chester Rd, Castle bromwich is now closed and is being turned into an O.A.Ps home. Terry

    My mom used to swear by a potato cut in half and put the two halves resting against the heels of new shoes overnight. She reckoned it softened the leather, I never seemed to notice the difference, still got blisters. Terry
