I think you are right Nick, but imagine all those extra millions of pennies the oil companies get. Terry

    Fuel

Brilliant, just like me. What happened to me once was i needed some fuel so I put £10 worth in and I only had £10 on me, and of course it jumped up the extra penny, so I gave the cashier my £10 and said you will have to have my name and address, he let me off with it though, probably more hassle...

    Fuel

I am almost convinced that fuel pumps are fixed, let me explain, I usually buy my fuel at £10,£20 or £30. Now no matter how careful I am, it almost always without fail, jumps up that extra 1p so I get £10.01 or £20.01. In fact it has become a bit of a game now when I buy fuel to try and beat the...

Colin, Something I have always wondered about, perhaps you have the answer. Is it 46 members that have viewed the thread or could it be 23 members that has viewed it twice? I think I have looked at it 3 times. Terry

    Library Of Birmingham 2013

Paid my first visit today, I was very impressed especially with the Shakespeare room. I asked the question "where did those old cabinets come from" and someone pointed out leaflets that were scattered about. As I did'nt have my glasses with me I took a picture, not a very good one I may add, but...

    Old street pics..

Easy to get confused, it happens to me a lot. I walked up and down Glenpark Rd 2-3 times a week for at least 25 years, the reason being my cousin lived at the bottom of Glenpark and we used to drink in the Swan and the Cross Guns. Sadly no longer. Terry

    Old street pics..

I am convinced it is Highfield Rd, if you zoom in on the street view pictures, the more you zoom in the more severe the bend is,or appears to be.

    Old street pics..

"I went to Leigh Rd, too, around the same time and knew Highfield Road up as far as the top of the Rock anyway and I can't for the life of me remember that bend. Highfield was a straight road except for a bend over the railway bridge just before Washwood Heath and I don't think this is it. So...

They Were Caught In Our Old Street Pics...

Re the pic in Phils post #501, the house must have been there when I went to All Saints, but blowed if I can remember it. I wonder if it was the caretakers house? Perhaps Carolina will know. By the way, I have edited post number 498, because silly me got my Saints the wrong way round. Terry

They Were Caught In Our Old Street Pics...

Re post #491. I think that on the far left of the houses is the Hydraulic pub and the big building is Scribbans bakery, so therefore the pic was taken standing in All Saints St with All Saints Rd on the right of the shop. Back in the 50's I walked that way everyday to All Saints School. Terry
