What great pictures of an era I can remember especially VE celebrations in Heather Road Small Heath. I know it's a long shot but are there any pictures of the residents of Heather Road during that period as it would make my day.
Any pictures of the infants and junior school 1945 to 1950 when i attended from my address in heather road. The only person I remember was Carol Coke who lived in Somerville Road.
Central Fire Station 40ft pole drop from 2 levels. It was Fireman "Buck Ryans" party piece to climb up the pole to the top no one could match this feat of strength(ex P.T.I) although some tried including me we never made it more than an arms length.
