I remember them in Colemore Row, what a terrible noise they made. Glad they are now gone and the buildings stay clean.

    Edwards Emily

Re: Emily Edwards Thank You Annie, I have mis-laid some of my research. It's been so long and I cannot get to the Central Library these days. I had a trace back to the City Centre or should I say the Town Centre back in the early 1800's. Take Care Annie. Ernie.

Centenary of the Great War - August 4 2014

I had thought what a tribute to all those who gave their lives, if a catalogue of newspaper cutting could be made. What a colossal task it would be. Cannot see it happening in my lifetime.

    Medicines Of The Past

I cannot see anyone has mentioned Aspro in those long strips. They also used to sell all kinds of lozengers some of which you can still get today. Little tiny black things, not sure if they were called Imps. Radio Malt and Parishes Food to give an appetite.

    Gosta Green Through Duddeston

Not sure if I had posted these poor quality scans before. This is said to be Great Lister Street and I can only guess it is the corner of Henry Street as it is before my time.
