    Have found the family on the 1891 census living at 12 Moscow Street, Leeds. Israel 39. Leah 32. Barnett 13. Nathan 9. Fanny 8 mths. There is a marriage in Leeds for a Barnett Levi but is in 1942 !! here are the details; 1942 Leeds Sep Qtr 9b 757. Wifes name Pauline Hegendorf...

    Gareth. As he was a Russian Jew, he is unlikely to appear on the Marriage Registers. I have checked from 1901 to 1932 and there is no record of a marriage on the BMD Registers. Barrie

    Don't know if this is relevant Gareth, but there is a Barnett Levi, the son of Leah Levi living in Birmingham in 1901. It looks like Inge Street. Here is a copy of the census for 1901.

    Gareth. Barnett Levi is the only person shown on the Electoral Roll. Mrs Levi (if there was one) would not be shown, because women did not vote at that time I beleive. Barrie.

    Just for interest, on the 1901 census, at 10 Stretton Road, Aston is a Piper Family. John Piper 48. Mary Piper 50. Thomas Piper 18. Joseph Piper 16. Frank Piper 14. Harold Piper 8. All born B'Ham with the exception of Harold who was born Dudley.
