WW1 Soldier who was a Licensee

MWS, Thank you I guess this ties into the 1939 Census, so he was there in 1933. So moved from The Windsor between 1930 and 1933. Starting to fill in the gaps. Appreciated. David

George Thomas BULLIVANT, 8576, Worcestershire Regiment

Janice, Yes, but having trawled through the Worcester's rolls I'm reasonably confident it's him. I'm assuming it says Birmingham because that's now his home town, but it's certainly not a definite. David

George Thomas BULLIVANT, 8576, Worcestershire Regiment

Janice, Janice, The Fold3 pension card only shows the MM notation, but does have a date on the back, 24 Aug. 1937. Unfortunately not been able to tie this to any event. He went to France with the 2nd Battalion on 11 November, 1914. Not the first draft so may have been in a different Battalion...

George Thomas BULLIVANT, 8576, Worcestershire Regiment

Now completed a search of all 4 Battalions 1911 census finding no mention, so can only assume he was not picked up on the general census. Does anyone out there have access to the local newspapers who could help please? I have been through those on Findmypast. Thank you.

George Thomas BULLIVANT, 8576, Worcestershire Regiment

MWS, I came to the decision that this was my man because his father was a serving soldier in the 1891 census. I am trying to find him in the 1911 census but no luck so far. He went to France in November 1914 with the 2nd Battalion? His number suggests 1904/05 so he could have been in the...

MWS, Thank you for that. This ties in with my assumption, but is he the man who won the MM? David

George Thomas BULLIVANT, 8576, Worcestershire Regiment

I'm here again. Another Birmingham man who received the Military Medal. Unable to find any of his papers and no clues as to birth, death or where he lived. All I have been able to find is that when he was reported wounded in September 1915 he resided in Shirley. Again when he was wounded in...

    Richard Arnold 8268 Worcestershire Regiment

Alberta, MWS and pjmburns, Thank you so much for all of your "research", I now have a much fuller picture of this decorated soldier. His enlistment documents for 5th Battalion Worcestershire Militia have survived but unfortunately not his WW1 service. Your research has brought his family all...

    Richard Arnold 8268 Worcestershire Regiment

MWS, Richard Arnold, 7068 attested in 5th Battalion Worcestershire Militia. served from 27 July 1903 until 21 February 1904. My Richard 8268 enlisted around February 1904 so could be the same man. Unfortunately 7068 father was named Richard, mine, 8268 was Louis. Though on 7068 record it shows a...

    Richard Arnold 8268 Worcestershire Regiment

Janice, Thank you, I thought I had looked for this record and drew a blank! Senior moment perhaps. Right now I have an address, brother and wife. Unfortunately several oddities but it happens all the time. Again thank you WVS and Janice, more research ahead. David

    Richard Arnold 8268 Worcestershire Regiment

Yes came across this man. His name and number are correct. I have a copy of his citation and the London Gazette and his Military Medal. From memory the service record for 7068 shows he enlisted in the 5th Battalion but I need to go back to my PC to find out when he left. Do it tonight. David
