    Clocks

Was once in a caravan park in Ashburn which was originally a large estate. The bar was in what had been the stables loft and had a clock like this but the drive bar was much longer. The owner said that the time was set correctly by bending the bar just a bit now and again. Cheers Tim

    Worst car of the 1960's

One of my brothers in law (a motor mechanic) was given a Hillman Imp which he brought up to his brother's holiday home in an old ghost mining town of Eldorado here in Australia. Most of the kids in the family learnt to drive in it on the old un-surfaced roads, a bit like the conditions you see...

    Car registration numbers

Having a sort of quirky mindset to remember our last vehicle, a Toyota Landcruiser troop carrier which we bought with my wife's settlement package. The rego was ERV 549 , so we used Early Retirement Vehicle 5+4=9. The clincher was if we couldn't remember that we shouldn't be driving ! Cheers Tim

    Turner's Arms

Sorry Old Boy if I gave the wrong impression. We only went up to the pub for a couple of pints as it was just before lunch and they were open 12.00 'til 2.30 if memory serves me well. After lunch I got changed, went across town to pick up the girlfriend then the gay and hearty started about...

    Moor Street Warehouse

Hi Mike, at one time in our less affluent days we had a car which we could lock by pushing the door buttons down but we couldn't open with the key so I always had the trusty wire coat hanger in the boot. One day we were on a day out in a local old goldmine town which was busy with other...

    Turner's Arms

Funny Phil, I can only remember drinking in the Turner's Arms once,in 1959 on my 21st birthday. I think Dad and I were sent out of the house so the ladies were able to get on with the arrangements. Can't remember too many of the details but I woke up in my upstairs bedroom next day. To my...

    Turner's Arms

Hi, The Turners Arms was one of the many local pubs for me as I lived in Tillingham St where we lived opposite an Ansell off license. Turner St. had two pubs, at the corner with Highgate Rd there was The Junction Hotel and at the Ladypool Rd corner The Turners Arms. As kids we used to race our...
