    When i lived in Hodge Hill, Reg Watson used to live in a houses over looking hodge hill common (the small common) and Noel Gordon was a regular visitor. Also not related but the goalkeeper Gil Merrick lived at the end house, at the end of Stechford Road, close to Hunters Moon

    Phil so having another look at the 1901 Census my Grandfather lived at number 13 Adrian Cottages, so your grandfather lived at number 10 that would be (looks like a William a Reynolds) age 2, my grandfather was 4 at the time, so very close neighbours, and probably played together

    My Grandfather also moved from cottages to Grange Road, then when he married moved to Yardley Wood (Pendeen Road ) dont know what year possibly 1919/1921, from previous posts i think the Cottages were the old Picture House is facing Grange Road, but intresting if you have a photo.

    My aunt and uncle Tim Flynn lived at 504 Alum Rock Road, he Tim used to use the Brook pub, he came from cork Ireland and Married Florance B Ward in 1945, she passed away about 1965, though they lived in Alum Rock I don’t know if Florance came from the same area, her parents I am led to believe...

    On the Theme of Butchers does anybody remember Pitt the Butchers, at the end of Stechford road Bromford road, it was tucked away inn the corner, worked there as a Saturday job about 1973/ 1974
