Thank you so much Wendy for posting the photograph of the Sketch-o-graph. I was given a Sketch-o-graph as a Christmas present at the Lucas Great King Street Christmas party in 1963(ish). In fact, it was the Sketch-o-graph that really started me doing portraits. I fondly remember drawing...

Yes Lyn - it was underground and crossed the top of Defford Road on its way through to Burbury Park

Lyn - as a young lad I used to climb up and peer over that wall in Villa Sreet to look at the 'brook'.......... memories:)

Jules - Gerrard Street went from Burbury Street all the way through to Alma Street Aston. I know because after we left Defford Road to live in Burlington Street Aston, I was forever spending by bus fair and had to walk home from school.........

Jules - I think the first photograph shows the No 8 bus about to cross Wheeler street. The second photograph shows the pub on the corner of Gerrard Street/Wilton Street (I think that it is still there? - Astoness will know the name). Mabz

Ray - I remember delivering papers to some of those houses in Gordon Street. The fence on the right is Burbury Park. On the lefty hand side there was a shop (out of picture) called Moseley's. Thanks for the memory. Mabz
