    Big house on Hagley Road!

I would think it may have been to the right, where the piece of land is? Lower numbers are to the left.

    New Street Station From 1854 - 1966

Not really Birmingham history I know (sorry!) but interesting history of Broad Street Station for any of our Railway enthusiasts, I had heard of it but hadn't realised it was round the back of Liverpool Street Station and I know that area...

    New Street Station From 1854 - 1966

Yes, the word does look like Moor and I wondered if it was a GWR train at first - pity only the WR is visible! I had a look on Google, their London terminal appears to have been Paddington but there was a LNWR train from Euston to Birmingham. The Broad Street relates to the old London Broad...

    New Street Station From 1854 - 1966

A photograph of a London bus outside the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel c1910 showing an advertisement for (I think) the LNWR train service from Euston or Broad Street Station to Birmingham. Would that have been to New Street Station?

Mother's Club Carlton Club Ballroom Erdington

Great photo! That was the larger side stage wasn't it! If I remember correctly, during the Carlton days there was a small semi circular stage at the end of the room and the larger stage to the left of it. When it became Mothers it was rearranged with just a large stage at the end.

    Marianne Faithful has died.

Yes, I was sorry to hear that yesterday. I saw her at the old Ronnie Scott's in Broad Street back in the 80s, she was performing Jacque Brel songs (I think it was!) quite different from her original stuff, very theatrical. It was very good. RIP Marianne

    Anyone still got a piano

My Mom could play the piano, she learnt when she was young, not sure if they had a piano in the house, I was actually born in my Nan's house but she moved to the countryside before I was 2 so I don't remember! If she did, she didn't take it to the cottage. Later on, in the 80s I think, Mom and...

    Broomfield House Wellhead Lane

I love the old map! My junior school, Birchfield Road shown towards the left near the junction of the Birchfield and Aldridge Roads. On occasion we would use a sports ground nearby which I think would have been what is marked as 'cricket ground' on the map - interesting to find out that would...
