    Hello SuBee. My dad used to work at benton & stones in the 60's. Not sure what his job was though. All I can remember was, when he came home, he wore white overalls. Me & my two brother went there for a christmas party. My dad's name was Arthur.

    Lovely photo's Phil. Seeing that photo of the entrance on the bridge has brought back such happy memories of how the old bullring used to be linked to new street station, as I worked at the old woolies.

    Hello Susan. Though I should have been in school, I really loved my times working at ansells & HP sauce. Loved the mixed aroma of the vinegar & hops. The area had it's own distinct smell, (now sadly gone). How I miss those days.

    I can remember my mum telling me she used to work at Hercules, when it was known as Hercules manor Mills. If I can remember correctly, she said they used to make saucepans. I think my dad worked there too.

    I vaguely remember the elbow room & the mayfair suite. Never got to go in either as I was too young.

    I remember the railway layout in Lewis's,but sadly, don't remember which layout it was. I can remember it was quite a large layout.

    I checked on google maps to see if the fine fare building was still there, & they reckon it is a mosque, though I scrolled along lozells road & it appears that the old fine fare building is still there, though it appears that it is a chemists now. It's been 40 odd years since I was down that way...

    Hello Morvenna. I never got to play on the bomb pecks in Lozells. I was too old. I was working at Fine fare on Lozells road in the 70's & had a friend who also lived in Chain Walk, before it was all demolished & changed. She used to work at fine fare with me.

    I know they was not there for long as they moved into a block of flats in aston. I think it was number 6 or 9 that they lived in.Will have to dig out an old photo of them & upload it on here.

    Hello BazzM. Unfortunately, I can not remember what number was their flat. I can remember looking out of their window & being able to see duddeston. I can not remember what floor they was on either. I think it around the 4th floor. I know we had to turn to the right as we got out of the lift.

    My nan & aunt lived in Queens Tower after being forced to move from st clements road. If I remember rightly, this was in the late 60's, early 70's. You may have known them. Their surname was Howell.

    I do remember barbarellas, though I am the same as you, have forgotten a lot of things from those days, so just can not remember where it was. It could have been on the same street as the old Bingley Hall.
