I thought the cost of the bus was paid by the school system, the strange thing it was only after school had finished for the day you had to walk to school, the ride was not free but is was cheap as I said most times there was only 3 or 4 kids on it, but the driver never hung around if you got...

I saw Jasper Carrot there 70's, still remember some shouting out some junk and Jasper said "sit down in your seat and we will plug it in",

    Bus Chassis

What a cracking picture, already got a license plate, can not make out the route number on the bus behind. The driver looks like he should be on a old AJS or a Matchless.

    Paint code

It is for a road going vehicle but if I can not find a company here in the US that can supply the paint per code I would buy the model paints as samples and have them mail here, then have the paint made a a custom colour match or used for a wrap

    Paint code

I may well be buying from them and using the as samples here in the US. I won't actually be painting, I will in fact have the vehicle done with a wrap.

    Paint code

Thank you I will email and ask. As a side note looking at their website took me back 50+ years they show a Midland Red bus route number 144 the very bus that took me fishing to Worcester and the Malvern Hills. Then later to Bromsgrove Collage when my Royal Enfield was broken down.

    Guided buses Tracline 65

I am in complete agreement, the bus shown in the picture burnt good and hot in the middle, good enough to melt the structure and sheet metal, I wonder if it was loaded with test equipment. . Now I have not been on a bus in a very long time but as I recall they were in fact a little short on...

    Bus Chassis

You can be sure those guys were looking forward to a hot cuppa some where. I recall going to Browns Lane the Jag factory in the 70s and Daimler limos coming out with no coach work it been so long ago I do not even recall how I knew they were DS 420's perhaps they had the front grill.

    Paint code

So call me crazy I am really thinking of painting a van to look like a bus in the blue and cream colours No one here (US) will get it as they will not recognize the look of a Brumie bus, and no one else will have that. So does any one have the paint codes for BCT

I love looking at all these old pics of both the buses and trams. One thing I enjoy are the adds looking to see if I know the product or store etc. This has made me think of what does/did it cost for a add. How much is this add revenue helped support the operating cost of the bus system. Then...

I know this is a old Post and sadly the OP has left us,. So maybe another can help what on Earth was on that bus that could burn and further more are others able to catch fire I have never given it a lot of thought but I assume non combustible materials were used when ever possible

Thank you but that can not be Blackpool it's not raining .

    Then & Now

That makes sense when the tram is in motion, but when it stopped ? it a wonder some of these old pics do not show people as a bonnet ornament as they stepped off a tram.

    BBC 'gangsters' 1976

I worked for a Austin dealer in Rubery Owens Garage before going to PJ Evans on Granville St now both long gone, but we had a service bulletin not to jack one up with the doors open as the car could twist.

    Then & Now

So you could pass on the outside ? but not between the pavement and tram.

    Electric Trams

Wow what a great link and great read. 80 miles of track that number surprised me I would have put the number much higher. The picture of the Rednal terminus was a gem those rails where still there into the 80s along with some of the old posts where the shelters stood. The heyday being the 30s...
