Re: the wicker fences round the tram poles - they'm awful posh in Stockland Green ya know! (Or maybe they ain't posh at all and it's to stop them being nicked)!:disgust:

Re: The Aldridge incident, that could be from yesterday's Mail!!!? Not much changes, does it? Always some dozy s*ds around. My grandfather was a drayman, could have been him 'drunk in charge' from what I've heard.

Oh those poor men Mike. What a terrible time to be destitute. The relieving officer "could have done more" - sounds like the recent Social Services cases to me!

    Bridge Street/Holliday Street Old House

I can only make out the words "Private Property" on the yellow notice Lyn. I wonder if it was bought some time ago with a view to redevelopment? Then the market collapsed. I still think it's connected to the canal in some way; offices? workshop? repairing "things" (men are good at that). Maybe a...

    Bridge Street/Holliday Street Old House

Nice to see you trespassing again Lyn, lol. I would think the building's an office relating to the canal, but I've no idea why it's still standing if it's not Listed. Love a good mystery me!

Theatre: Whats on, where and is it good.

Bernard: We saw "Daytona" at Malvern Theatre, excellent! I did think that John Bowe acted Maureen Lipman and (especially) Harry Shearer off the stage though. Enjoy!

    Library Of Birmingham 2013

The thing that most disappointed me was the Gift Shop. Lots of London bus models/red phone boxes etc. All Made in China.

Cheeky b*ggers, does everything have to be in London now?

    Library Of Birmingham 2013

In an interview with the actor Martin Shaw last night, he said he wasn't too keen on the new library, to him it looked like a giant liquorice allsort. Good description I thought.

It might be due to the shortage of public conveniences in Brum:disgust:

Terry, I said the same thing to my friend when we visited .. "How long before we have the first 'jumper'?" Sincerely hope we're both wrong!

I went yesterday with my friend, but only as far as the 4th Floor (Archives). You can get to the Secret Garden via the stairs then? There's no way you'd get me in a glass tube masquerading as a lift!

Amazing work Stitcher, you're so very talented.

    By any means

You beat me to it Pol! Apparently it's set in London but filmed in Birmingham and surrounding districts. They showed a clip of them filming in Waterloo Street on Midlands News (despite the voice over calling it "Waterloo Road" when the street plate was right in camera shot ... doh).
