    OMG. I went to Windsor Street Primary School from 1953. The Headmaster was Mr Giles and Miss Soppitt was our Reception teacher.... Sooo lovely. I hope someone sees this thread from those days.

    Awwwww. My mom used to live in Billingsley Road. She moved down to Bournemouth in 2011, so that my sister could care for her full time. She died in 2014. My moms name was Mrs Shaw.

    City Centre pubs

    In answer to GOC... Yes, these sites bring back wonderful memories. My husband and I use to go into town before we were married. (1969). Had wonderful times. Unfortunately, one of our regular pubs was The Mulberry Bush. Heartbroken in 1974 when along with The Tavern it was bombed.

    Belmont Row and Cardigan Street

    I used to live in Gopsal street. It has gone now but pleased that Cardigan Street is still there. so many happy memories. Good news too about the Belmont works I have a friend at the University so I knew the building was going to be restored.
