    Fisher family

Two other children - Grace Elizabeth and Alfred Thomas who both died young? And is it Arthur Ernest rather than Arthur & Ernest?

    Johnson

And as an example of how easy it is to go down the wrong path. Searching the 1851 census for people name Johnson born Woodhouse (same as Thomas) resulted in an Edward. And looking at the 1851 census he turned out to also be a Joiner. A baptism gives his parents as Edward & Martha and on the...

    Johnson

With a common name like Johnson you are probably going to to hit a brick wall earlier unfortunately. Even if you trace the name back to a small village there's always quite a lot of doubt if you find older matches. For the generation before someone like Thomas you are hoping that a cousin...

    Johnson

Marriages or Banns prior to 1837 didn't require a father's name and they've never required the mother's. Sometimes non-conformist marriages (ie non C of E) give father/parents but the above marriage was C of E.

    Shaw Hill School

Do you mean class pictures or picture of the school? If you google picture search 'Shaw Hill School old pictures' then there are a number of results, some quite old and some more modern. Not sure if any of them are from the years you're interested in.

It is also possible that Thomas may have been married before. I can't see the marriage scan to Matilda to see what he was listed as.

    Johnson

Thomas (father) appears to have also been born in Leicestershire (Woodhouse Eaves) and was a joiner. Mother possible Mary Ann Hinman or Inman born in the same place. Married 17 Sep 1830. Probably needs a little more looking at to confirm.

The marriage is on Ancestry. Matilda's father is Edward, Thomas' father was Thomas.

Warstone Cemetery look up - Phoebe and Matilda Hall

I don't think you need to buy a certificate, I think you can get a digital copy which is considerably cheaper.

Warstone Cemetery look up - Phoebe and Matilda Hall

As there is no age associated wit the burial or the directory then there's no certainty that either is the correct William. Circumstantial only but there is death reg. in Windsor Jun 1888 for a William Oldham of about the right age. There doesn't appear to be a matching William on the 1881...

What happened to Ernest Dyche Photography Birmingham?

I can only see mention of a birth for a Margaret O'Dair/Odair in England/Wales and she is reg. Hartlepool in 1905, so in the general area of the article.

What happened to Ernest Dyche Photography Birmingham?

    I think there's a mention of a Miss Peggy O'Dair in the Berwick Advertiser 1 Oct 1925.

Is that (East Africa) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment?

    HS2 progress 2020 and beyond

Another HS2 video (they seem to be popping up quite often now) and this one is much more professional than the previous one. Of Curzon St again but goes down 'the line' past Curzon no. 2 viaduct which still has to be slid into it's final position I think...

    WW2/ Territorial Army service....

In WWI soldiers could have different numbers, if they changed regiments for example. I wouldn't be surprised if the practice continued. I thought it was a relative straightforward process to get later service records for a deceased person.

    BCFC new stadium

It is nice that they've attempted to reflect the industrial heritage in the design but to me it looks like someone designed a stadium and then someone else came along and added the chimneys afterwards. Don't like it. And when are the Blues likely to get 62000?

I assume that the above 2 photos are of Shaftmoor Farm rather than Greetmill Hill Farm, which was also on Shaftmoor Lane. It seems to fit, map from 1913 arrow pov of first photo...

    Clarke

A couple of possible sightings on the censuses for Charles after 1891. Most likely is listed with a Poly/Polly Clarke in 1911 and 1921. In 1911 he is listed in Bham as Thomas b1862 Hckley (sic), a carpenter and in 1921 in Bham again as Charles S b1860 Birmingham, a carpenter. There is also a...

    Clarke

Sorry, there is a William Clarke of the right age at 148 Durham Road. I didn't notice the different number, doubt he is the brother then as he dies in London.

    Clarke

He's at the Durham address on the 1939 Register listed as Tom C, with his brother (Victor) William.
