    Interesting and Unusual Names

I have some distant relatives who named the first 3 children Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Their next son was Daniel so still biblical related perhaps but after that another 6 children with common names. And none of the 3 named any of their children after themselves.

One of Rodolfo's sons appears to be living in the US, Texas I think.

    Interesting and Unusual Names

Another localish one - Epaphroditus Dunn. Not sure if his name had anything to do with his father, Theophilus, being the 'Dudley Devil'. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theophilus_Dunn

    Soho Road Handsworth

Appears to have been no. 265, possibly 263 & 265. Maps seem to suggest it may have once been a picture theatre. Looks like a newer building now.

    Iommi family

Her name was Bridget/Breda Teresa Desmond. She died in 2019.

    Iommi family

Is there a connection? Desmond is a reasonably common name.

    Iommi family

Marina married Mario Cancia, I did wonder what happened to them. I assume Rodolfo anglicized his name. When he married Bridget Desmond in 1955 he is listed as both Rudolpho P and Randolph. There are 3 Iommi/Desmond children registered - Christopher R, Patrick P & Teresa M.

    Iommi family

Last address is in Bedford, listed as Randolph. Married twice, 3 children from first marriage.

Oh, I forgot they weren't all at St Joseph's.

You could find the names from plot 87 in the records to see what it says and how it compares to what it says next to your relatives. You could also compare some of the names from headstones still standing in different sections to get some bearings.

Wheeler Baker tracing family members 1800s/1900s

It seems unlikely that they are the right people. And Australian records are pretty sparse, so hard to track even if they were.

Wheeler Baker tracing family members 1800s/1900s

There appear to be a number of Wheelers on that ship. Are they together/related? I see the birth year is a few years out.

    Varna Road

A slight anomaly perhaps. There are a George and Lillian Cooper listed on the ER rolls at 100 Varna Road. They ae there from at least 1955 to 1965, so either it is not the correct George Cooper or he didn't die in 1958.

    Shannon, George

There are a number of outgoing passenger records for George Shannons going to South Africa and one in 1909 for a J Geo Shannon. I can't see any other details.

    Shannon, George

No luck with the George Shannon who died. However on the 1911 census in the Fulham district there are 2 George Shannons - b1853 Dublin & 1873 Liverpool. The younger is listed as a musician. And it's possible that they both died in Cape Town.

    looking for burial records

She doesn't appear to have had any, she married in 1941 in Bham. I think she was born in Handsworth. In 1939 she is at the Stoke Lyne Home for Mentally Deficient Boys in Devon. I assume working.
  19. MWS

    Shannon, George

I think that may be the wrong person. Listed as G Shannon, died 9 Sep 1914.

I assume you know that Winifred's death was registered in Leeds.
