This is a follow on from the thread called Park Lane I started a couple of days ago. A friend of mine at work has asked me for any information about "Ebanezers" but he was certain that it was in Nechells. After searching the Forum I gave him the News that "Ebanezers was in Park Lane Aston...

I did ask him that but he said no. He lived on Nechells Park Rd, But all he can remember was the name "Ebinezers" and that he used to go down Elliot St to get there so I now think it must have been Aston.

Yea thats what I thought Dek. A friend at work who lived in Nechells in the 50's ask me if I remember "Ebanezers" in Nechells but after a Forum search the only reference I can find is Park Lane and I wondered if there was one in Nechells..

I have been told today of a Working Mans Club on Nechells Park Rd. I'm told it was somewhere near the park and it was there in the late 50's early 60's. I don't remember this club myself so could anyone confirm this for me and if it did exist could anyone tell me what it was called? Chocks

I always thought that Norman was Harry's son, bearing in mind I was only about 5 yrs old at the time but my mom went on to work for Norman in the 60's. That's how I got to know them.

I remember the Bonners well. Harry passed the garage over to his son in the early 60's who kept it going well into the 70's. Don't know who owns it now but it hasn't been a petrol stn for years. Doctor Sihngs surgery was next door to Harry's house. The waiting room as I remember was always full...
