    IN OUR GARDEN 2023

The wind got up yesterday evening, and it's been blowing a wee bit ever since. From the WNW, 50 mph. That is most of the plants done for this year. Bare in mind, the wind came off the sea, laden with salt spray. Not a good mix. Air temperature was into single digits, and the wind chill...

I discovered why the level in the nut feeder was dropping so quickly. There are fewer Starlings visiting us. But the Sparrows are in good numbers. Steve.

After having nigh-on constant rain since Friday night, the deluge has stopped, and all is well (ish). The cold wind has claimed one or two more victims, but, overall, it's OK. Steve.

It has been raining here since Friday. What is a garden? Steve.

    Austin Village, Turves Green

It just came to me, that they were referred to as Canadian Bungalows, by many people, locally. I doubt that Bay City, Michigan, would have meant a lot to the folks from around there. Steve.

    Austin Village, Turves Green

I went to school at Turves Green, and lived locally. I was always impressed by these houses. When I worked as an electrician with the the MEB in the late 60s, early 70's, I carried out work in one or two of them. Nice, easy access underneath was a bonus. Steve.

!st. October, its 18 deg. here, and looking good. My wind blown Lizzy hasn't quite given up the ghost. Recovery is not an option. Steve. Steve.

Not at all, Richard. I just bumble :grinning: along, day to day. Steve.

I have high hopes for this one next season, as it did not flower this year. This is the cutting taken in May, from my SIL garden in Castle Vale. And, I took these this week. Steve.

NOT in my garden, but I'm trying to get a cutting. This was alongside the Hydrangea. Steve.

We have 45mph winds forecast overnight, but from the SW. We are well protected by the rest of the village from that direction, but anything with any North in it, is a killer. Those Fushias must be ten years old. After every Winter, I think it has been their last, but they keep coming back...

Just popped out and took these pictures, and overall, the garden is still looking OK. Although it looks like there is plenty of flowering to come, the weather will change suddenly, and low temperatures will kill it all off. Steve.

A twelve year old Sony Cyber Shot bridge. It is set to "auto" most of the time. Any decent pictures are down to the camera, not my ability. :grinning: Steve.

A Late bumble. And, the inevitable sparrows. Steve.

That cold wind has struck again, I was a wee bit slow on the button for this one. Steve.

Thankfully, no. We were away for four days, and I was expecting our garden to be kaput when we returned, but the rain gods were on my side. Still looking OK. The Starlings soon found the food. I did bring a new Buddlia home. The flowers have an intense aroma of honey. Steve.

I have three Bocock (seahorse brand) lamps. They have been converted to use an electric lamp, at some time. Steve.

A few pictures from Tarzan's garden. In reality, the walled garden of the old Head Gardeners house at Greystoke Castle. The castle is no longer lived in. The walled garden is still looking good. Full of shrubs, flowers, fruit trees, butterflies, etc. Steve.
