    Snow Hill Station

Brilliant photos - thank you for posting them - do you have any more? By the time I got there a few years later (78/79) the station buildings had been demolished and the tunnels had been blocked up with rubble, but it was still possible to find things if you looked hard enough:- Local...

    IN OUR GARDEN 2024

Finally managed to get a photo of the comet tonight from the top of Newhall Valley - not brilliant as we had low haze and the brightest supermoon of the year to contend with:- You can just see it in the centre of the picture above the middle bush, sloping top left to bottom right. Zooming in...

    Birmingham City fc

This is in 1905:- This one says it was opened in December 1906 - but perhaps this was a rebuild:- This is from a match in Nov 1906:- Is there truth to the fact it was built on the site of a rubbish tip? As a Villa fan I could say a lot at this point, but I won't.........

Filmed by BBC in the 70s

Pity it was BBC and not ATV - the MACE Archive is supposed to still hold around 95% of ATV/Central midlands regional news and documentary programs made from 1956 to 1992. It is (allegedly) the most intact local news archive in Britain.

Filmed by BBC in the 70s

In 1970/71 it is almost certain it would have been recorded on 16mm film - not videotape as portable video cameras were barely in use then and needed an OB unit as well - so if it was on film it could not have been wiped. However the film itself may have been junked. Check with the BBC archive...
