My last problem was due to Internet Explorer (an old browser no longer covered by windows) so I now just use 'search' on my desk top. Eric

Yes Lyn, have no problem answering pm's, just cannot start one, as soon as I start the text or type in the subject the recipients name disappears. Guess I will have to live with it. Eric

GEC was my first job when I left school in 1944 and worked in the drawing office but it was causing eye strain and left the following year the month the war ended. Eric

oldMohawk, have switched Autoplay off and altered settings, now all back to normal, like you said it was probably an update that caused the problem, thanks for help - and thanks to all who offered suggestions, saved me calling an engineer in. Eric
