Nice to hear that people will save trees/plants and re plant them. I like that. Always interesting when people put plants in hedgerows, there's a clematis growing by our local McDonald's in a council hedgerow! I can't imagine the council planted it!

Cooler here today too. I'm just about to go out in the garden. What sapling was planted Jan? I think trees are fab. We have a deciduous pine tree at the front of our houses. It's the wrong tree really as the needles get everywhere, but I love it. I do a lot of sweeping when it sheds.

Oh, OK, mine is on a kind of shady position, that's probably why it is flowering so well.

Tinpot and Dave M, I have both of those clematis, very nice large flowers. I wonder what the clematis with the largest and smallest flower's are called? I'll have to look it up. I'm going for a shower. You never know, the forum may have furnished me with a answer by the time I get back!!

I don't know, I suppose if the pansies grow in the cold they will grow in the warmer weather too, if that's how it works?

Changing the subject, Bourganvilliea. I had one in a pot last year, bought it in over winter, itlooks fabulous. I've now got one that is a mix, I'm really looking forward to seeing it grow. Has anyone got any tips for keeping these plants?

Yes, sounds like a great effort. I'd love to have something like that nearby and give them a hand.
