    Coventry Street Digbeth

I worked in the printers next to The Old Wharfe pub on the corner of Coventry/Oxford Streets from 1968 and was told that not long before they used to have their Tea etc bought over from houses on opposite corner by the lady of the house. There were still a few dwellings around at that time but as...

I dont understand........if theres a Genealogy section and people ask for help in this section how does it impact on other sections? Surely people who dont like Genealogy questions are not impacted when someone uses the section.

    Kings Norton Workhouse

I lived in 1976 in Kings Green Ave just off Rednal Road just around the corner from The Green and everyone in and around the back gardens area said this was the site of the Workhouse. At the bottom of the gardens was substantial brick walls and was told this was the perimiter of the grounds.

    Quinton factory ?

Yes we thought it strange that its got Coventry as the place...but on Death Cert it says Coventry and Warks Hospital U.D...I think it could be Selly Oak ?....looking again at the Death Cert it lists her as office cleaner so my earlier thought that she cleaned Pub and Works could be right....cant...

    Quinton factory ?

I cant find any reference for a Richard Lunt factory in Quinton but piecing things together ( with no evidence) I see she and her Mother were "charing" in 39 and could have cleaned The Punch Bowl and Lunts but its all just guessing.

    Quinton factory ?

YES......THANKS both......I had thought about Lunt and found a Lunt Grove but it didnt look likely to have been a factory here at that time.....and her younger niece might have worked there as she was in 39 register as a Hand Press Worker.....I know hand press work was being done around Hockley...

My Mothers family were from Wednesfield and Tipton and both families went to The Wirral ( they didnt know each other) But I suppose they were drawn to each other being from same place and anyway 2 got married and had 3 children.
