    I remember queueing with mum for Daily Mail shoes, Tuff slip-ons (iirc) for the winter and school. Black 'Pumps' or sandals were usually worn in the summer. These days it's Sketchers Go-Walk series, like walking on marshmallows.

    Excellent Mike, Also ties in nicely with Annie marrying my G Grandfather in 1904, he lived at 22 Station Rd Erdington. Plus I see more than one shop at one point.

    I loved the old buses, jumping off the platform at the back before it stopped was the best part of the journey, plus having a crafty after school fag upstairs on the way home. I don't ever remember riding on a Midland Red bus though, weren't they for the longer routes out of town?
