I remember being intrigued by the word 'axe' in place of ask. I have looked into this usage and apparently it is the original word. Also the word 'rocks' for sweets is something I only ever heard in the Hockley area. When I used it in Acocks Green no-one had any idea what it meant. NoddKD

My wife calls me honeybun ocasionally but I believe that is more to do with the mad rabbit of Westward TV fame than anything to to with Brummie sayings. She is a Maid of Kent so Brum speak is a mystery to her! ;) ;)

My uncle Bernard was always called Bun by his wife. My sister (AND ONLY MY SISTER) calls me Bun ocasionally. :) ;) NoddKD. Touchy about his moniker. :):)

I remember watching Cawdor Crescent and the flats and houses being built. Cawdor Crescent went through the back garden of the property we lived in!!! NoddKD

I would've enjoyed visiting the Belgrave pub in Balsall Heath. Spent many hours outside drinking pop whilst my Dad was inside supping with his twin brother. Never made it inside;always intended to. One of those things that never gets done until it's too late. :confused: NoddKD
