    Lewis's Department Store

I found some information about the production on the website theatricalia.com. It was a touring production, and the acrobatic trio was Helen Howell, Harger and Mario Naldi. The dancers were Mr Wylie's chorus girls. Here Comes the Bride The lead role of Robert Sinclair was taken over almost...

Yes, I remember them! Often seen on stations as well. Now, they are a bit differently designes.

    Crossroads programme

There's a nice reference to Crossroads in the episode of Endeavour (ITVX) Passenger, set in 1968. The writer, Russell Lewis, is very fond of throwing in references to popular culture. A small part of the action takes place at the Crossroads Motel in KIngs Oak. The receptionist looked quite...

    I didn't realise that.

The shop had its own nurse? That's really interesting.

I didn't go there Paul, but the little park sounds idyllic.

I used to be taken there to feed the ducks.

    Lewis's Department Store

I can visualise the jewellery department, where I bought a pair of Corocraft clip-on ear rings. I have had a look online and have found Ranella china and some items of clothing, but no jewellery. There is stuff on eBay.

    Rackhams Store

I once bought a leotard from there, and a bottle of Guerlain eau de toilette (It was £10, which shows how long ago it was!) Also sometimes used to buy tea from the Food Hall, but nothing else that I can remember, as it was an expensive place. But yes, walking through was a very nice experience...

It sounds awful! And remembering what Rackhams used to be like...

    Crossroads programme

Not quite Celia Johnson, but going in that direction. It was partly the way she pronounced the 'h' in words like 'what.' I thought I spotted Susan Hansen in the last scene, so checked and she was there, also Tony Adams, who I didn't spot.

    Crossroads programme

Definitely posher than they were! I didn't know she was from the East End (or so she says in the 'Nolly' script).

    Crossroads programme

Has anyone seen the series? I've seen the first two episodes, and it's quite fun. Helena B-C seems less posh than I remember Miss Gordon being, but the sets seem very authentic recreations.

    Restaurants In Birmingham 1960s

I do remember the Golden Egg! What replaced it, I wonder?

I heard a bit of this https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_fourfm Helena Bonham-Carter talking about Nolly.

    Hot drinks

I had a recipe ages ago (which I made) for a Bournvita malt loaf.

    Quite eerie.

    Lewis's Department Store

I would have liked one. I did have a Triang tricycle.

    Birmingham museum and art gallery.

Thanks Lady P. I assumed it was open because they don't seem to be doing the online lectures they started during lockdown.
