    Wow! Thats a really great shot! You can see both cinemas on the High St. the Globe & the Orient. It absolutely captures the feel of going up the road. This area was known as the Monkey Run or just "the Run". Dave A

    I used to go to New St Station every evening on my way home from school to see what was pulling the 5.00 Glasgow train. Lots of "crates" but sometimes a "cop". Even saw a blackie pull it from time to time. Dave A

    We used to swim in that canal...not very healthy I suppose but in those days it didn't seem to matter. It was quite common to see a dead dog floating in there from time to time. Dave A
