Problem being that many of them are unplayable due to their history of abuse. However, YouTube to the rescue!! I...

Memories : Essence Of The 50s And 60s

Mr Bailey looks very much like my mate Georgie Bailey from Potters Hill. I'm sure it's him...on another note, what a pompous and condescending interviewer, typical of those days with the BBC accent. Dave A

    Cigarette smoking

My memory of tipped cigarettes meant that I couldn't smoke our mom's dog ends...small as they were, I could still manage a couple of drags. Once the tipped fags took hold, she would smoke the whole thing right down to the cork. Fags never tasted as good after that, there was a major difference...

    Childhood Memories

I recall the days when we had a modern grate and subsequent paraffin heater. Our dad used to pick up the paraffin at a filling station on Lozells Rd. It certainly was a lot easier than the open fire experience. However, it happened one day that the burner in the heater kept flaring up and our...

    Lost streets of birmingham

What's strange about this photo is that Albert Clayton thought that, like me, the peck on the right, was in the middle of the street, but in fact was at the top of the street. Dave A
