Aston, Lozells & Witton Photos Reposted thanks to Ray Griffiths...

After looking back again on Lyn's Furnace Lane photos, I noticed that the 5th photo on #10 looks like Gerrard st looking towards Gower St. I am really surprised at how narrow the road looks considering it was a busy road and also the No 8 route. Although, it could just be an optical illusion...

    Coleman Place And Coleman Street

I wonder if anyone can point out a location in Coleman St. When my wife's parents were courting, her Mom lived in Coleman St and they were married at St Matthew's church. I have found an address which is..... 2 Court 15 Hazel Terrace which we assume is house No2 in Court 15? The map that...

    Prisoners of War WW2 photos

In addition to my previous posts about my Father-in-Law on this thread here are two more photos. I kept these back before, thinking they were personal. But since then, with my wife's agreement, we think they show the affection 'Pop' had for his wife. This first one was sent in 1938. The second...

    Black Country Museum

Great photos Mike. First time we went there with the kids was around 1979. Remember that the school was isolated on the corner with only the fairground next to it. Later, the fairground was moved along to accommodate the Conway garage.

    Black Country Museum

I was really surprised to see this photo on The BHF website because the Air Raid Warden is me. I am a 1940s re-enactor and have been doing this display at the BCLM for the last few years now. I also took part in the recent Peaky Blinders event street theatre there. Thought I would just add that...

Not only did Winn's have their own on site foundry, they also had their own on site printers shop. This part calendar from 1972 was on their wall. I always found it funny so, I kept it when the printing shop closed down in the early 80s.

Hi nickcc101, this was issued to me around the same time as you. Luckily, I never had cause to use it.

Creation of the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive

Came across these items during a draw rummage the other day. With everyone having a mobile phone these days I should imagine these driver cameras quickly became obsolete.

Because the image belongs to my Sister-in-Law I had to ask her permission for you to use it on your website. She has agreed but, I would ask you to please credit Pauline Rogers.

This is me with one of our big valves in the 1980s. I think it was the 1000mm firesafe butterfly valve.

    Charles Winn & Co

Hi RobT, the casting warehouse I remember ran along the ramp from the road and down to the towpath. I don't remember it running along the road as in this photo. I have started a new thread - Charles Winn (valves) Ltd in which I hope to post more photos.
