I'd wondered what happened to the Tindal Street memorial. The picture looks like it's been in someone's shed for a while.

I don't know if or when we'll find out what the plaque really was but there do seem to be a lot of memorials that have either disappeared or wound up in inaccessible places.

This morning I got an email from Rob Rolfe who started all of this. "As a result of the BBC coverage, I am now pretty certain of the origin of the plaque. I will have to do a lot of checking, and still have no idea how it came to us. I will be in touch." I have written back to ask what he's found.

There should be more than that, if only the Stones on Balsall Heath Road, but that's a fair view of the distribution for most of them.

Probably a good idea to concentrate on that area, more than half of the names came from BH and another fifth from moseley. See the pdf with post 100 for detail. I doubt this would be a particular military barracks given the diversity of regiments they wound up in. It's probably not a school...

One other thing that came up today. The plaque measures 80 cm by 55 cm, or 32 inches by 22 inches.

Some news that could make things more difficult. The plaque was brought in to the church 5 years ago. It must have come out of the skip sometime before that.

Sorry I couldn't put this up yesterday but it's the collated material that I was provided on Tuesday. It took a little work to make it work on a pdf this morning.

Currently the only attachment I'm seeing on postings on the pc version is as an image. That's why I haven't tried that. It does seem to vary depending on platform. I'm working on tablet this morning and the options seem different.

I doubt that it would be St Paul's but their list was transferred to the new church centre and a new memorial made. I can probably take a look at that when I'm done here but I doubt that would be it.

Unfortunately, I don't think we're going to get those answers. As I remember it the person who found it turned it in at a church in wylde green and left without giving more detail than that they had found it in a skip.
