Map of Cambridge St, 1921 to 1930 please!

Just wanted to say thanks again for the links. I have so much more of an idea now on where my relations would have been going about their daily lives. The census material was a bit of a jigsaw puzzle, lots of street names, but now I can piece it together and not just for Birmingham but other...

Prince of Wales Theatre Broad St

Thanks for the info all. These are the pics that I found, but there have been a couple of occasions now where I have had more info from the forum than I could locate on the internet. So I like to ask the forum as you are a clever bunch who know your stuff.

James Upton Printers, Great Charles Street, Birmingham.

Great info, thanks. I don't think the Upton in my family tree is the Upton or Uptons in the printing trade. I have looked at the census since and my lot lived in Harborne. However, it has lead me to learn more about Birmingham history so that is a real bonus.

Prince of Wales Theatre Broad St

I have just looked on the internet and to my delight I have found a couple of pics. But I would still like to see what the forum could provide if anyone would like to post. I have been lucky enough to have someone from the forum supply pics before that I couldn't find on the internet, so...

Prince of Wales Theatre Broad St

I have searched the POW Theatre, but I cannot see a pic. Perhaps there isn't a pic but if I have missed it, please could it be posted again. I now have a map of where my relations lived and I am trying to piece together some details to get an insight on how they may have lived.

Map of Cambridge St, 1921 to 1930 please!

My great grandparents lived in Cambridge Street from 1921 to 1930 as well as other members of my family in the neighbouring streets. It would be great if I could obtain a map including Broad St and the surrounding area.

St Peters Church, Harborne, Freda Strawbridge Headstone

I visited Freda's grave recently and the repair is holding up nicely. I am in the process of cleaning and clearing. I know it's a graveyard, but it is so lovely there. I can't help but wonder who lived in the little terrace houses that are next to the pub. If only buildings could talk!

Map/s of Harborne around 1919 to 1936 please?

    Paradise development 2019

Yes, I thought as much when I was writing it to be honest, I think given the chance they would knock the lot down and start again! I wonder how many of the decision makers are Brummies? I really feel for the people of Brum, seeing all of the changes over the years. Perhaps it's better that...

    Paradise development 2019

Although to me the alterations look good, I cannot remember it any other way. It is still heartbreaking to hear how the alterations trouble Brummies and I sympathise. I just fail to see in this day and age how the majority of opinions on what people feel should or shouldn't be replaced can't...

Birmingham pubs used for gigs by famous musicians or groups?

Some great input on this thread. Interesting reading, thank you. I saw Roger Daltry today in the news. Amazes me how he looks so good, along with a lot of them, when you think of their lifestyles that they had back then!

St Peters Church, Harborne, Freda Strawbridge Headstone

I went to see Freda's grave on Christmas Eve, all is good with the repair. I am hoping to get back there soon to do some more clearing. I couldn't help but notice that a tree next to the grave is marked with spray paint, I can't imagine, with it being such an established tree, that it will be...

Map/s of Harborne around 1919 to 1936 please?

I would like to find out more about where my relation Freda and her family would have been riding their motorbikes in Harborne between the dates 1919 and 1936. I am familiar with Harborne from 2015, so I don't even know what it would have been like even as far back as the 60's. Any information...
