    Clocks

Was once in a caravan park in Ashburn which was originally a large estate. The bar was in what had been the stables loft and had a clock like this but the drive bar was much longer. The owner said that the time was set correctly by bending the bar just a bit now and again. Cheers Tim

    Worst car of the 1960's

One of my brothers in law (a motor mechanic) was given a Hillman Imp which he brought up to his brother's holiday home in an old ghost mining town of Eldorado here in Australia. The rego was ERV 549 , so we used Early Retirement Vehicle 5+4=9. The clincher was if we couldn't remember that we shouldn't be driving ! Cheers Tim

Hi Mike, at one time in our less affluent days we had a car which we could lock by pushing the door buttons down but we couldn't open with the key so I always had the trusty wire coat hanger in the boot. One day we were on a day out in a local old goldmine town which was busy with other...

    Turner's Arms

Funny Phil, I can only remember drinking in the Turner's Arms once,in 1959 on my 21st birthday. I think Dad and I were sent out of the house so the ladies were able to get on with the arrangements. Can't remember too many of the details but I woke up in my upstairs bedroom next day. To my...
