Thanks Mike, that's perfect. I have some photo's, but they lived in the court behind.

Passages, Alleyways Gulletts and Snickets of Old Brum

Hi Dennis, Do you have the part of this map where Wheeley's Lane meets Owen Street? I think its by the Welcome Inn, my family lived there, so it would be lovely to see. J

    City Centre Photographs

Hi Dennis, This addition was perfect timing, as I had a post ready to put up today exploring the inside of the new theatre when it opened after the first fire... https://mappingbirmingham.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/a-visit-to-brand-new-theatre-1794.html Rupert, at the time of the images above the...

    Bull Ring until 1920s

Hi, I'm not sure how acurate the drawing will be, it is by Samuel Lines Senior, who would have remembered the original area (born 1778), but there is no date on the original so it could be from memory or earlier sketches. I will try and find out some more info on when the drawing was made. There...

    Bull Ring until 1920s

Viv, it was Spiceal Street (or Spicer Street). The area can be seen on some of the late 18th century maps of Birmingham

Cornish Bros Corporation Street & New Street

I also wondered if 'The Daily Post' sign was an advert? Perhaps Cornish's selling papers? Since then found notice for paper printers next door in 1867.

Cornish Bros Corporation Street & New Street

The shop front is definitely drawn/painted, but the building looks like a photograph....I don't have any more information about it, but it is either a very good painting, or someone painted the shop front onto a photo, though I'm not sure why that would be as I think the image was produced when...

    Georgian & Regency Birmingham

I hope this warrants an 'exciting find'; a print of the theatre on New Street in flames in 1792. https://mappingbirmingham.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Theatre

    Georgian & Regency Birmingham

It is so great that the B'ham History Galleries are now putting on show what was previously hidden in storage. A friend of mine worked at Aston Hall and she helped pack up for the refurbishment; she said it was amazing how many items BMAG actually have in their possession. She found it really...

    Christ Church New Street

It was the first time I'd seen the interior as well, I came across it by accident....I'm sure there are many more little gems out there waiting to be found. I have found quite a few images that I think are unseen, and I am happy to post links on here once they are online, if people want me to.

    Courtyards and yards of brum

I'm afraid the family had moved out of the area by the time I was born. My family was Harris, and there were also Holloway's, my Uncle would remember. I'm glad the photo's were of interest; just one more of my nan in my grandparents fishing tackle shop...I will try and find out where it was.
